Undelivering the Application

If CSDCAS finds significant mistakes while verifying your coursework, your application will be undelivered back to you with an e-mail explaining what is wrong. You must then correct these errors AND REDELIVER the application to CSDCAS in order for us to continue processing and mailing your application.

COMMON MISTAKES MADE TO THE COURSEWORK SECTION

Mistakes Which Will Cause Your Application to be Undelivered:
  • You have failed to report a college or university you received credit from
  • You have listed all of your courses under one semester or term instead of dividing them up by term
  • Missing or incorrect department prefixes
  • Missing or incorrect course numbers
  • Missing courses (usually non-credit labs, PE courses, withdrawn courses, test credits, or repeated courses)
  • Vague or incorrect course titles (i.e. “English” instead of “English Composition I”)
  • Unconverted course credits in a unit system (see coursework instructions for details on converting credits)
  • Mislabeled terms or terms entered out of chronological order
  • Information consistently does not match that on your official transcripts
Mistakes Which Will NOT Cause Your Application to be Undelivered:
  • Misspellings
  • Capitalization
  • Incorrect course subjects
  • Occasional (not more than 4) incorrect grade, credit, or course information entries

MY APPLICATION WAS UNDELIVERED. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The following steps will help your application get back into processing as quickly as possible:

1. Read through your undeliver message thoroughly to determine what needs to be corrected. If you have any questions or require help, please contact customer service.

2. Make ALL changes requested in the e-mail (sometimes more than one issue is listed).

3. Once you are done, YOU MUST REDELIVER THE APPLICATION BACK TO CSDCAS. You will not need to make another payment, but if you do not resubmit we cannot process your application and it will remain undelivered indefinitely. To resubmit, click on the “Check Status” tab at the top of your application. Under your transcript and reference sections, click on the button that says “Redeliver my Programs” to resubmit.

4. Check your application to make sure it no longer reads as “Undelivered” next to your submitted programs on the Check Status menu.

5. In order for your application to go back into processing, its status must read as  “Complete.” If additional documents (i.e. new transcripts) are required for your application to become complete, monitor this section to ensure they arrive and your application returns to a “Complete” status. If it does not and all missing documents have arrived, contact CSDCAS customer service ASAP.

6. Once your application is again “Complete” an automatic notification is sent to the individual verifying your application to let them know you have turned it back in. They should return to reviewing your application as soon as possible. On average, your application will be reviewed again within 2-3 business days.

7. If it has been over five days since your application became complete again, contact customer service.

COMMON QUESTIONS:

Q: I completed my application several weeks ago, but I just received an undeliver notification today. Why did it take CSDCAS so long to undeliver my application?

A: When your application becomes “complete,” it is placed in line for review. Depending upon the season in which you submit, THE WAIT FOR YOUR APPLICATION’S REVIEW CAN TAKE UP TO FOUR WEEKS. CSDCAS DOES NOT REVIEW OR CHECK YOUR APPLICATION FOR ANY ERRORS UNTIL ITS TURN COMES UP FOR VERIFICATION. If our verification staff is unable to calculate your GPA because of an error they discover when your application comes up for review, your application is sent back to you for correction at that time. It is imperative that applications be completed correctly prior to submitting and that applicants turn their information in early to avoid these types of delays.

Q: Will having my application undelivered delay my application?

A: YES. Once you have made the appropriate changes and re-submitted your application to CSDCAS, the individual working on your application will receive an automated message that you have re-submitted your application. They will return to your application to continue processing it within five business days. It is important to be accurate the first time to avoid delays in the verification process. If your application is undelivered, you should make your corrections and resubmit as soon as possible to avoid further delays.

Q: Does resubmitting change my original e-submission date?

A: Resubmitting your application does NOT change your original submission date. However, it does give you a new completion date. You should contact your schools to determine whether or not this will effect their consideration of your application.

Q: If I have noticed I’ve made an error to my coursework before it has been verified, can I request to have my application undelivered?

A: YES. If you know you have made an undeliverable error on your application, you may contact CSDCAS by phone or e-mail to have your application undelivered for correction. Your application will still be delayed, but will be put back into line sooner than if you had waited for the error to be caught during the verification process.

Q: Can I have my application undelivered for errors to other sections of the application?

A: NO. Applications may only be undelivered for errors to the coursework section.
